Selenium Energy is a family-run solar, battery, EV charging and electrical installation company based at 12 Maple Drive, Winchester, SO23 7NG, registered in England & Wales under company number 16417300. When you complete a quote request or contact us we collect your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, the service you are enquiring about and any details you choose to add in the message field.

If we survey your property we record technical details needed to design and certify the installation: roof or consumer unit details, existing wiring and equipment, meter and circuit information and photographs of the work area.

Our website uses a third-party review widget and a Google Maps embed. Those providers may set their own cookies or record standard technical information such as your IP address when their content loads.

To respond to your enquiry, arrange a free survey and prepare your written quote.

To carry out and certify work you instruct, including issuing electrical certificates and registering notifiable work with our accreditation bodies.

To honour warranty and guarantee obligations, including the 2-year workmanship guarantee and manufacturer warranties on equipment supplied.

To keep the records we are required to keep as a NAPIT-registered, RECC-registered and OZEV-authorised installer, and for accounting and tax purposes.

We rely on legitimate interests to answer enquiries and run the business, contract where you instruct us to carry out work, legal obligation for certification, accounting and tax records, and consent where you ask to receive updates from us. You can withdraw consent at any time.

We do not sell your data. We share it only where necessary: with our accreditation and certification bodies when registering notifiable work, with equipment manufacturers when registering a warranty, with our accountant, and with the software providers that host our website, enquiry forms and email.

Enquiries that do not proceed are kept for up to 24 months so we can pick up where you left off. Records relating to completed installations are kept for the life of the guarantee and warranty periods and for as long as accounting and certification rules require.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to erase data we no longer need, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. Contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Enquiry data is transmitted over an encrypted connection and access is limited to the people who need it to quote, install or invoice your work. Site paperwork and photographs are kept on password-protected devices and accounts.
