Terms & conditions

These terms apply to work carried out by Selenium Energy, 12 Maple Drive, Winchester, SO23 7NG, company number 16417300, registered in England & Wales. They sit alongside the written quote we issue for your job; where the two differ, the quote takes precedence.

Surveys are free and carry no obligation. A written quote is normally issued within 48 hours of the survey and is based on what was visible and accessible at the time of the visit.

Quotes are fixed for the scope described. If additional work is found once panels, boards or floorboards are lifted, we will stop, explain the issue and agree any change in price with you in writing before continuing.

Solar and battery installations for domestic properties currently attract 0% VAT and quotes reflect that where it applies.

A 25% deposit secures your installation date. The balance is due on completion, once the work has been demonstrated to you and you are satisfied with it.

Prices quoted for EV chargers: for example Fox L Series from £900 supplied and fitted, Zappi from £1,200, and fit-only from £500: are starting prices confirmed on your individual quote.

Enquiries are answered online 24/7. On-site work is carried out 7am–6pm, Monday to Saturday, with emergency call-outs available outside those hours.

You agree to provide safe access to the working areas, the consumer unit and, where relevant, the loft and external walls. If access cannot be provided on the agreed date we may need to rearrange.

All electrical work is carried out and certified to BS 7671 18th Edition wiring regulations under our NAPIT registration and Part P. Certificates are issued on completion.

We are registered with RECC, the Renewable Energy Consumer Code, and are OZEV-authorised for EV charger installations. MCS accreditation for solar PV and battery installation is currently in progress.

Our workmanship is guaranteed for two years from the date of completion. Equipment supplied by us carries the manufacturer's own warranty: up to 30 years depending on the brand and product.

The guarantee covers our installation work. It does not cover damage caused by third-party alterations, misuse, storm or accidental damage, or faults in parts supplied by others.

Any savings, generation or payback figures shown to you are estimates based on the system specified, your stated usage and current tariffs, unless a figure is explicitly described as confirmed by a customer. Actual results vary with weather, tariff changes and how the household uses electricity.

Where the contract is agreed away from our premises, consumers have a statutory 14-day cancellation period. If you ask us to begin work within that period and then cancel, we may charge for the work already carried out and for goods ordered specifically for your installation.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
